故事
This bark (3-masted) was built in 1883 by Goss & Sawyer in Bath, ME.
历史记录
This vessel made five whaling voyages. While under Captain Bosworth this vessel was wrecked at Thrasher Rock (Gabriola Reef) 14/07/1880 near Nanaimo BC while enroute from Nanaimo to San Francisco with 2600 tons of coal while under tow by the Beaver and the Etta White, and was a total loss. The HBC vessel Triumph was sent to assist but was anable to help. The wreck was purchased by J.F. Engelhart of Victoria BC for $500 and the coal cargo for $50. The Thrasher Case was a maritime law case in which the dispute between the Judiciary and the Executive of the Province over-shadowed the rights of the litigants in the case. The vessel Thrasher was lost while being towed from Nanaimo and the owner sued for damages resulting from negligence. On April 14, 1921 this vessel was destroyed by fire and sank in the Aleutian Islands Alaska.
