Star Wonder

The Canada register of this vessel was closed effective 2002-06-17; the vessel was later registered in the United States under state boat license CF6768TX in California. Kyle Stubbs reports (July 2026): "I photographed a fishing vessel converted into a motor yacht at Santa Barbara, California in September of 2016 wearing only state license number CF6768TX. Cross-referencing that number in the USCG Port State Information Exchange (PSIX) found the vessel's name reported as STAR WONDER, of which a Canadian fishing vessel of that name matches this vessel in size, hull shape and pilothouse layout. PSIX reports this vessel "Destroyed" as of 6/1/2021. Further searching found a news report from KEYT News that the vessel I'd photographed had broken anchorage at Santa Barbara on May 22, 2021 and drifted ashore at Santa Claus Beach near Carpinteria, where it began to break up."
