Historical Notes
George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 07/12/2021) stated "This year she's been at a marina at Vallejo. This vessel was built in 1944 as a boarding tug for the Coast Guard, numbered CG 64313. When first sold about 1974, this vessel was documented as GRACE and served as a fishing boat, hence the rig this vessel still carries as a recreational vessel." Kyle Stubbs (Email to Nauticapedia 11/08/2023) stated "Today this vessel, configured for recreation with a bit of fishing on the side, is known as the COAST PILOT (558380), but this vessel was delivered in 1944 by Nunes Brothers of Sausalito as the Coast Guard tugboat 64313. The Coast Guard ordered 15 of these in total from 3 different boat builders, and as recently as c.2010, there were at least 3 still afloat around the country, but to my knowledge, she's now the only one left."
