This schooner, three-masted was built in 1919 by Mclean Construction Co. in Mahone Bay, NS.

On May 22, 1920 the John M. Wood sank after a collision with the US vessel Sir Luke Elash.

In 1918 she was owned by Henry W. Adams, Lunenburg NS Canada and Alexander Knickle, (JO) Lunenburg NS Canada.
