Story

This fishboat, (shrimp) was built in 1978 by St. Augustine Trawlers.

Historical Notes

George Schneider (Aug 2026) writes: In 2025 the Coast Guard declared this vessel "Abandoned." So at the time of this photo, she's technically out of registry. Louisiana is one of the last places that abandoned vessels peacefully exist; any place else the governments are concerned about salvage and pollution costs. All political views aside, his might be a matter of practicality. Louisiana, including all its navigable inlets, undoubtedly has more "waterfront" than any other state.
