Historical Notes
Kyle Stubbs reports (July 2026): "Originally delivered for use in the state of Massachusetts, the vessel was sold in 1991 and shifted to use in the New York City-area. Later the same year it was acquired by Sea Jet Cruises and moved to Pacific waters, first operating out of Honolulu, then on a Catalina Island route from San Diego. Sea Jet Cruises declared bankruptcy in 1994, and the next year its high-speed assets Seajet I and Seajet II (ex-Metro Manhattan) were acquired by Cross Sound Ferries of New London, CT. Seacat I is still in service for that owner."
