This fishboat, longliner was built in 1982 by Clarence R. Heisler in Youngs's Island, NS.
Historische Notizen
Although the Registry was closed in 2025, there is some confusion over its final fate.
In 1985 the registry at the time stated that the vessel was lost to a fire. In conversation with the builder Cecil Heisler, it appears there was a fire, however the vessel was towed back to the yard and basically rebuilt. Unfortunately, it was subject to a second fire much late, the date of which cannot be confirmed. This time the vessel was a write off. The Crystal Marie was the last Cape Island type longliner built in the Heisler yard.

In 1982 the vessel was owned by Peter Zinc, Owl's Head, NS, Canada.
