Historical Notes

Kyle Stubbs (Email to Nauticapedia 13/12/2021) stated "the cruise ship LISERON (971339). For those not familiar with her, this little beauty has a fascinating history, ordered by the US Navy as the motor minesweeper AMS 98 from Tacoma Boatbuilding. This vessel was completed in 1954 and soon after transferred to the French Navy as the LISERON (M 683). This vessel was later reclassed as a dive tender and remained in service until 1987. Soon after this vessel was acquired by US interests and brought back to Puget Sound to be rebuilt into one of the "intimate" cruise ships that serve the Alaska circuit during the summer months."
