Vessel Profile

CGR-1481 (U. S. Coast Guard)

⚓

Story

This yacht, power-cruiser was built in 1922 by William Cryer & Son in Oakland, CA.

Historical Notes

George Schneider writes: In the 1930 edition of Lloyds Register of American Yachts, her owner shows as Al Jolson (Hollywood star) and J. M Schenck. Her builder shows as F. P. Worcester of Oakland, California, probably the master carpenter who signed her construction certificate. I can't explain the Al Jolson connection, since MVUS is the authority on who is her owner on her documents.

In 1922 she was owned by USA interests.

In 1925-1941 she was owned by F.C. Hubbell, Des Moines IA USA, with a home port of Long Beach CA.
