Story

This yacht, sail (sloop-rigged) was built in 2014 by John S. Vardiman (Owner) in Beaumont, TX.

Historical Notes

The MMBC stated "Grace O’Malley was built by a surgeon in Texas over a span of 20 years. Originally named the Brands Rose she had an article written about the construction in Wooden Boat Magazine May/June 2014. Purchased by Dick Schuettge in 2019 and moved to Deer Harbor where she was converted to a staysail schooner with many new upgrades to exterior and interior." George Schneider (Oct 2026) Writes: The documented name of this vessel when built was BRADNA ROSE, but it somehow now shows in news reports as "Brands Rose". Another name that shows up for her is MALABAR II, which actually reflects the long-ago John G. Alden sailing vessel, whose design was replicated for this modern vessel.

She is 55 feet in length overall.
