Biografie
He attended McGill University. After his naval service he was the President and CEO of Hiram Walker Resources, the Chairman Consumers Gas, the Chairman and CEO of Canadian Arctic Gas Study Ltd. 1972-77, the President of Wood Gundy Ltd. 1967-72, and the Executive Vice-President Gulf Canada Ltd. 1977-79.

He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (COTC McGill University) (Transferred to RCNVR 1941) He was appointed as a Probationary Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 03/03/1942).
He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 22/12/1942 later backdated to 1941).
In 1942 he served in HMS Whitshed.
He was appointed as a Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 11/12/1942). (On loan to the RN 1941-1944). (He was demobilized 13/12/1945.)
