Biography
He was the son of John C. Ainsworth Sr. and Nancy Jane White.
He was educated at the University of California at Berkeley in 1873.
He married Margaret Sutton, daughter of John Sutton of Potland OR.
He went to work on Columbia River steamers and was Vice-President when it sold out to in 1879.
He was the promoter of the Kootenay Railroad & Navigation Co.
He ran unsuccessfully for the US Senate for the State of California.
