He was appointed as a Wireless Telegraph Operator (Second Class) RNCVR (With seniority dated 01/03/1916).
In 1918 he served in HMCS Margaret (Auxiliary Patrol Ship) as Wireless Telegraph Operator. (He was demobilized.)
