Biografie
He was an officer in the Royal Spanish Navy.
He explored the opening to the Strait of Juan de Fuca in 1788 and in the name of Spain he formally took possession of the coast.
In 1791 he explored Strait of Juan de Fuca with snow San Carlos and naval schooner Santa Saturnina (In command).
