Also Known As: Mits

Tasaka, Mitsuo

Biography

He lived in Burnaby BC 1967-1989.

He was a commercial fisherman 1967-1989. His obituary stated "Mits spent much of his life fishing on the West Coast chasing the big "smileys" on the Big Bank. In the off season, Mits was a passionate gardener and cook. His green thumb was the envy of all his friends and relatives and they all benefitted from the fruits of his labour. Known to enjoy watching all the "big games" with Leah, we will fondly remember Mits as a unique and talented individual with many thoughts about life, nature and people, which he loved to share over a carefully prepared cup of instant coffee. As a single parent, he honed his culinary skills to become a very competent chef. We will all miss his baked pies, his homemade udon and his special Black Bean Crab, and most of all, his laugh and his love."
