1885–
He was appointed as a Wireless Telegraph Operator (First Class) RNCVR (With seniority dated 01/03/1916).
In 1916-1918 he served in HMCS Rainbow for Wireless Telegraph Duty (West Coast) at Alert Bay Radio Station. (He was demobilized.)
