He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 01/05/1959).
He was appointed as a Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 16/02/1961).
He served in HMCS Stadacona, (Selected for permanent commission).
He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (MARS) (With seniority dated 01/07/1967).
He served in HMCS Mackenzie (In command) 1972.
He was appointed as a Commander (MARS) (With seniority dated 01/01/1973).
He served in HMCS Restigouche (II) (In command) 1973-75.
He served in HMCS Huron (II) (In command) 1981.
He was appointed as a Captain (MARS) 1986.
He served in MARCOM as Deputy Chief of Staff (Plans) 1986. (He was retired 1991.) He continued to serve as Convoy Commodore to the Admiral with Primary Naval Reserve until 2001.
