He was appointed as a Capitaine de Fregate (Lieutenant-Commander) (RFN) (With seniority dated 01/07/1703).
He was appointed as a Commander (RFN) (With seniority dated 25/11/1725).
He was appointed as a Captain (RFN) (With seniority dated 17/03/1727). On three occasions (1711, 1712, 1713) he commanded the vessels which annually brought munitions, troops, and the king's orders to the colony in Canada.
