轶事

It was established in 1917 through a by-law giving the two localities joint fincial and operational managment of parks in Saanich. That year four parks were improved at Mount Douglas, Cordova Bay and Island View.

By 1925 Memorial Avenue, Gorge Bathing Pavillion, Mount tolmie, Brooks, Verdier and Marchant Road Parks were added to the list. A dispute in 1918 over payment of taxes on Mount Douglas Park went to the Supreme Court, with Victoria losing the case. Elk Lake Park was formed in 1922.
