After his naval service he was the western sales representative for DeHavilland Aircraft of Canada.

He was appointed as a Chief Petty Officer RCN(R). (CFR).
He was appointed as a Commissioned Stores Officer RCN(R) 1955.
He served in HMCS Nonsuch 1955. (He was retired.)
