Charles A. Woodward opened a store on the northeast corner of Westminster and Harris (Main and East Georgia) in 1892.
He worked on a cash-only basis for retail and mail order sales (1896). The catalogues were published until 1950.
They produced Pride of Vancouver wood stoves.
They marketed under the slogan "Dollar forty-nine day, Woodwards. Dollar forty-nine day, Tuesday." Charles Namby Wynn Woodward was appointed as President in 1956-88.
They sold ot to the Hudsons Bay Co. in 1993.
