He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) RCN(R) 1947.
In 1947-1951 he served in HMCS Discovery for UNTD. (CFR) In 1948 he was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1948.
He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 31/03/1951). (He was released 1951.)
