He settled in 1880 in Chicago and Minneapolis MN USA.
In 1888 he travelled to Revelstoke British Columbia after having travelled with his bothers William and Noah throughout the United States and Hawaii. All the brothers laid out the townsite of Trout Lake BC in 1891.
He was a contractor in Revelstoke BC.
He was the Mayor of Revelstoke BC 1922-24.
