He settled in 1880 in Chicago and Minneapolis MN USA.
In 1888 he travelled to Revelstoke British Columbia after having travelled with his bothers Otto and Noah throughout the United States and Hawaii. All the brothers laid out the townsite of Trout Lake B in 1891.
