H ewas the father of Canon Timothy Makoto Nakayama.
He came to Canada in 1919.
He taught in the Japanese Language Schools in Haney BC and Fairview BC for 8 years.
He married Masui Lois Yao.
He attended the Vancouver Bible College for 3 years and then attended the Anglican Theological College of BC.
He was ordained a Deacon in 1932 and a Priest in 1934.
He was the pastor in the Church of the Ascension in Vancouver 1929-1942.
He was interned at Slocan City BC in 1942. After the war he set up a mission in southern Alberta based at Coaldale where he established the Church of the Ascension.
In 1978 he joined the Church of the Holy Cross in Vancouver and he retired in 1979 in Vancouver BC.
