Biografía
He came to the Cariboo as a gold prospector in 1862 but was unsuccessful.
He purchased Howard Debeck's property on Sea Island in 1863.
He was the first Reeve of Richmond BC 1880-86. Richmond was named in honour of his wife's (Mary A. McColl Boyd) birthplace in Yorkshire.
