He was a Roman Catholic priest in the Oblate Order ordained in 1863 after coming to British Columbia.
He was appointed to work at St. Louis' in Victoria in 1864 as Vice-Principal.
He was Superior of the Oblate Fathers at St. Charles Mission.
He built St. Peter's Cathedl in 1883.
He was appointed as Rector of the Oblate University in Ottawa.
He was appointedt o Holy Rosary Parish in New Westminster.
