Biografie

He was a Danish ethnologist who worked with Knud Rasmussen in Greenland.

In 1921-24 he served in the Fifth Thule Expedition working with the Inuit and the First Nations people in the Barren Lands.

He advanced a theory that the north-central Cnadian Inuit people originated inland. Using only ethnological techniques and ignoring archaeological evidence led him and his colleagues to unsupportable conclusions.
