In the Asma, a small aluminum-hulled sloop of German registry he made, in 1990, an East to West Transit of the Northwest Passage, (this may only be partial transit as the vessel was reported carried by the CCGS Martha Black for 100 miles through heavy ice.) He carried on and did a circumnavigation of North and South America.

In 2010 he was the owner & manager of Campo Aventura in Chile (Outfitters for Horseback Riding Expeditions, Outdoor Activities, River Wilderness & Andean Campsites in Northern Patagonia, Chile)
