Biografie
He was living in Ottawa ON at the time of his recruitment into the navy. After his naval service he entered the British Columbia Public Service for fifteen years in the financial management side of that followed by "a stint as Executive Director of a NPO and some time in the income tax world."

In 1961-1962 he served in HMCS Carleton for UNTD. (He was released.) (Short Service Appointment 1963).
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1963).
He served in HMCS Venture (Officer Training Establishment) for Training 1963.
He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1964).
He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1964).
He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 02/09/1968).
He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (CF). (He was released 1989.) (He was qualified with a watchkeeping certificate).
