He was a shipbuilder from New Brunswick. (He was qualified as a Master Mariner.) He set up a shipyard in Kamloops BC.
In 1896 he built the Fawn but sold her in 1897.
He built the steam sternwheeler Scud (Ethel Ross) at Kamloops in 1897.
He also built the C.R. Lamb and the Andover.
