Anecdotes
On Saturday evening, May 24, 1952 the fishboat Kanawaka was rammed by the passenger vessel Capilano 4 miles east southeast of Gower Point BC Canada. The fishing vessel was three hours out of Vancouver bound for Prince Rupert. The Capilano put a lifeboat in the water and rescued the crew of six. George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 23/03/2025) states that "This vessel was constructed with the engines from the former Puget Sound steamer Washington."
