Anecdotes
On 20/06/1982 this vessel experienced a fire in the engineroom off Barkley Sound and was declared a constructive total loss. Flora Cook (Email to Nauticapedia 29/11/2024) stated "Gilbert was my father and Stephen Cook was my grandfather. It was my understanding from oral history that Stephen Cook had the two boats, Pearl C. and Winnifred C. built for his sons Reginald (Reggie) Cook and Gilbert Cook to skipper. The boats were named for my aunts Pearl (Cook) Mountain and Winnifred (Cook) Bell."
