Anecdotes
In 1956 this vessel was rammed by the Sea Queen III. Red cedar hull above waterline, fir planking below, gumwood sheath to above the waterline. Yellow cedar frames on oak ribs. Wheelhouse, upper saloon area, main deck, galley in stern, lower saloon midships, owners cabin forward. In 1991 this vessel was designated as a Vintage Vessel by the Maritime Museum of British Columbia. In 2014 Jane Stewart reported that: "The vessel was bought by Arthur Poole in 1965 and used to continue his trade as a salesman travelling the coast of B.C. servicing all the stores in the remote communities between Vancouver Island to Stewart, across to the Queen Charlotte Islands and back down the West Coast of Vancouver Island. The following owners of the vessel continued to do the same business, however as the years went on, the remote trade dwindled. When I bought the vessel in 1994, my ex and I realized that just supplying the Band Stores was insufficient to support the business and we turned the business over to a strictly retail general store allowing the First Nations people in the remote villages to come aboard and shop. We made the trip from Richmond to Prince Rupert and back three times a year taking about 7 weeks per trip." In 2017 this vessel was schedule to be broken up in Burnaby BC at Shelter Island Marina.
