In 1942 this vessel was commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy Fisherman's Reserve as H.M.C.S. Fifer. In 1942 John D. McPhee (Chief Skipper RCNR (Temp.)) in command with Ray Pedersen (Coxswain RCNR) as tender to H.M.C.S. Givenchy. In 1943 James Patterson (Skipper Coxswain RCNR) in command with Harry Nordin (Coxswain RCNR) as tender to H.M.C.S. Givenchy II. In 1944 James Patterson (Skipper Coxswain RCNR (FR)) in command with William Paulin (Coxswain RCNR (FR)) as Mate and William T. Locke (Coxswain RCNR (FR)) as Mate - tender to H.M.C.S. Givenchy.
