In 1913 she was owned by the Canadian Government as the CGS Naden designed as a Dominion Hydrographic Service tender to the CGS Lillooet. In 1914 she was owned by The Minister of the Naval Service, Ottawa ON for the Royal Canadian Navy as yacht to Rear Admiral Storey, Flag Officer Pacific at Esquimalt BC Canada. In 1914 she was sent by Admiral Storey up the Fraser River to wait out the war near New Westminster BC Canada. Later she was moved to Wheelbarrow Cove at Mill Bay BC Canada. In 1918 she was transferred to the Naval College as a tender. In 1918 commissioned as H.M.C.S. Naden, Owned by the Minister of the Naval Service, Ottawa ON Canada. In 1920 she became the depot ship in whose books were carried all of the officers and men serving ashore at Esquimalt. She was paid off and sold in 1925 for $1,090. In c1922 she was towed by Arthur and Fred MacFarlane from Esquimalt BC to Vancouver BC Canada. In c1922 she was renamed as the Mabel Dell. In 1927 she was owned by Lieutenant Joseph. W. Hobbs Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve, Vancouver BC (President of Hobbs Brothers Ltd.) In 1929 she was owned by S.F.B. Morese, Pebble Beach CA USA. In 1931-1935 she was owned by Stanley G. Harris, San Francisco CA USA. In 1941 she was owned by Albert Pack, San Francisco CA USA. (In 1945 she was no longer listed in the registration list of the Merchant Vessels of the United States). |
