Anecdotes
In 1967 this vessel was pulled ashore and turned into a Sea Cadet boathouse on Annacis Island. This vessel became a floating restaurant in 1971. Gord Darling (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 17/07/2019) stated "This vessel later became a dry land restaurant just under the Pacific St. end of the Burrard Bridge! The Jib Set sailing school was about to start building on the site and we came down to do things and discovered this vessel had been floated in and pulled up on our lot. The landlord had double leased the property, so instead of damages, etc gave us use of the water lot in front and we built on pilings. Both were still there when I left the Jib Set, but were removed shortly after by another developer and I don't know what happened to the Essington."
