In 1974 she was owned by The Minister of Transport and Communications (Ferries Division), Victoria BC Canada. In 1975 she was owned by the Minister of Highways (Ferries Division - B.C. Ferries), Victoria BC Canada. In 1976 she was owned by The Minister of Transportation and Communications, Victoria BC Canada. On May 01, 1961 her keel was laid by Mrs. Harold Husband. On October 24, 1961 this vessel was launched by Mrs. Percy Scurrah. On February 03, 1962 her inaugural run was made by Captain T. Parkinson. In 1968 car platforms were added. In August 02, 1970 this vessel was involved in a collision with the Soviet bulk carrier Sergey Yesenin in Active Pass BC that killed three people. In 1972 an engineroom fire broke out while this vessel was in Active Pass caused by a broken oil lineover a hot manifold. This vessel was towed to Burrard Drydock for repairs. |
