Anecdotes
In 1966 the S.S. Beaver was created from a YSF by the Royal Canadian Navy as a replica of the original steamship the Beaver. In 1972 this vessel was purchased by the Municipality of Langley to moor as a floating exhibit. When this proved too costly this vessel was sold for use a harbour cruise ship with the stipulation that this vesselmust sail to Langley at least eight times a year and be placed on display during Greater Vancouver Sea Festivals. This vessel underwent several several renovations, including the addition of a dining room and discotheque. As a derelict this vessel sank in Cowichan Bay BC 07/05/2014. Andrew Clarke reports that "This vessel was sunk in Cowichan Bay at anchor and abandoned in 2015."
