Anecdotes
On September 27, 1965 this vessel was launched by Mrs. W.H. Murray. On May 20, 1966 her inaugural run was made by Captain T. Parkinson from Kelsey Bay BC to Prince Rupert. In 1966 this vessel was in service as a semi-cruise ship for northern service from a Danish design. On August 11, 1967 this vessel grounded in fog on Haddington Reef near Alert Bay BC. About 300 passengers were evacuated and taken ashore at Alert Bay. On November 16, 1980 this vesselbegan operation to the Queen Charlotte Islands. On August 25, 1982 this vessel grounded in Gunboat Passage while enroute to Port Hardy. After this vessel was refloated, this vesseloffloaded her passengers at Bella Bella. The ship was refloated and proceeded to Port Hardy.
