On January 31, 1978, the Georges-Alexandre-Lebel train-ferry made its first crossing between Matane and Baie-Comeau with a capacity of 26 50-foot railcars. Pete Kovanda states "The vessel started service as Georges Alexandre Lebel in January 1978, moving railcars between Matane and Baie-Comeau, Quebec. It remains in this service to this day." |
