In 1928-1942 she was owned by Rayotara Kita (Nanaimo Shipyards), Nanaimo BC Canada. In 1942 her ownership was transferred to His Majesty the King. In 1942 she was commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy Fisherman's Reserve as HMCS Chamiss Bay - a Canadian Naval Patrol Vessel in the Fishermen's Reserve as a bathythermograph vessel. In 1946 she was owned by Cleto Feraro, Vancouver BC Canada. In 1949-1979 she was owned by Richard Carpenter, Bella Bella BC Canada. In 1980-1981 she was owned by British Columbia Packers Ltd., Richmond BC and Christie Packing Co. Ltd., Vancouver BC Canada.

Anecdotes
At the start of the Second World War this vessel was seized from Japanese owners for service with the Royal Canadian Navy.In 1942 this vessel was appraised at $10,800. In 1942 this vessel was commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy Fisherman's Reserve and functioned as a bathythermograph vessel. In 1944 this vessel was used as a D.E.M.S. vessel at Esquimalt BC. In 1943-1944 this vessel was a tender to HMCS Chatham. This vessel sank on March 09, 1981 and was declared a constructive total loss.
