Anecdotes
About 1974 this vessel was taken north for the oil play and government chartering which was taking place. This vessel was built as a typical west coast fishboat. The Industrial Division of the Northwest Territories Government loaned Vincent Steen, Vincent the money to purchase a boat in British Columbia through the salmon licence buy-back program. The Pressure Ridge, as this vessel became known, was put on barge in Vancouver and taken up to Tuktoyaktuk as deck cargo. The Federal Government chartered the Pressure Ridge but this vessel wasn't used much. This vessel was later pulled up on the beach at Tuktoyaktuk. Vincent Steen bought an aluminum fast crew boat from Imperial Oil Ltd. and chartered to Canmar at Atkinson Point.
