Anecdotes |
---|
In 1941 this vessel was seized from her Japanese owners by the Canadian Government. In 1942 her ownership transferred to His Majesty the King. In 1942 after being seized from her owners this vessel was released to the North Shore Packing Co. until an order for herring was filled. On November 3, 1943 this vessel foundered in Georgia Strait BC. This vessel has been reported by some sources to have served with the Royal Canadian Navy, but Bryon Taylor (26/11/2017) reports that "Reference RG 24 Volume 5825 File 8000 - 300/38 General Information - HMCS Nootka Sound states that this vessel was requisitioned by the RCN but that in February 1942 the requisition was cancelled - this vessel was not taken up by the navy." |
