On June 21, 1972 this tug foundered and sank in 65 feet of water at Latona Beach, Gambier Island BC. This vessel foundered very close to the dock. Earlier in the day the tug reported that this vessel was taking on water and had to be pumped out at a logging camp. As he approached the dock at the Latona Beach church camp observers noted the tug awash and slowly sinking. When this vessel was within 30 feet of the dock the engine stalled and this vesselwent down within 10 seconds. Linwood L. Brandon drowned in the incident. |
