This vessel was a Class-4 icebreaker protecting drilling platforms from dangerous ice loads, provide supply services and anchor handling duties. were designed to try to extend the drilling season in the Arctic for Beaudrill Limited by developing a supply vessel which could withstand winter ice conditions. In 1991 this vessel made a west to east transit of the Northwest Passage under the command of Captain P. Kimmerley. |
