This vessel was a sister-ship of the Martha L. Black and they alternated every other year in Western Arctic service. They are both classified as Light Icebreaker-Navaids Tenders commissioned in 1986. This vessel was transferred to the Quebec Region. In 2004 this vessel was based at Quebec QC.
