Anecdotes |

This vessel was a double-ender hull design. Don Reksten (Curatorial Committee Royal Victoria Yacht Club 15/02/2016) reports that "During the Second World War this vesselparticipated in the RCN Motor Boat Squadron, a project involving owner training and participation in drills. The only compensation was dispensation from gas rationing." Robert Lawson (Email to Nauticapedia 01/09/2021) stated "was built to a design that appeared in Rudder Magazine in 1906. Apparently this vessel was the first boat in the Vancouver Yacht Club. We very nearly ended up owning her in 2005 when we were selling the Anne Marie as this vessel was offered to us as part payment but another offer came in before we could conclude negotiations with the owner. There are very few early sailing yachts left in BC that were built here and are still in commission." In 2021 this vessel is berthed in Powell River BC where this vessel is in remarkably good condition and virtually unchanged from her 1930 configuration. |
